Google is the world’s most popular search engine. So much so that it is now almost synonymous with the very word search. The word Google is no longer just a noun, but an important verb too which goes hand in hand with online search. 1. Search using your voice

Tired of typing? You can search with your voice, say “Ok Google” or select the Microphone.

2. Use dedicated search tabs

Google Search result page has dedicated search tabs at the top which allows you to specify your search category. For instance, if you want to search an image, choose the Image tab. If you are looking for news, then choose News tab and so on.
In addition to these basic tabs, Google also offers Maps, Flight, Shopping, etc tabs which can be used to get specific information depending upon the nature of search or result you are looking for.

3. Use Quotes to search the complete phrase or make a particular word mandatory

Adding quotes in your search keywords or phrases, Google makes sure to include the complete phrase or that particular word in the search result. This will help you get better search results.
For example, if you are looking for USB Type-C earbuds, adding quotes over USB Type-C, Google will make sure to include the USB Type-C phrase in the search.

4. Use asterisks (*) to get your search results from random words

Using asterisks will make Google fill in the blanks between the words. For instance if you only remember a couple of words from a song. Type those words and add asterisks where you feel the words are missing. Google will automatically fill them and search it for you.

5. Use hyphen (-) to exclude a particular work from your search

Hyphen can be used in a search to exclude a particular word from the search result. For example Jaguar Speed-Car. This will show you all the results related to the speed of Jaguar and exclude information related to Jaguar cars.

6. Use @ to search social media

Add @ in front of a word to search social media. For example Gadgetsnow @twitter, will show all the results for Gadgets Now on Twitter.

7. Search hashtags

Google also allows users to search hashtags in the search. SImply add the ‘#’ in front of the search. For example: #GadgetsNowAwards

8. Combine two searches by adding ‘OR’ in between

Google Search also lets you combine two searches by adding an ‘OR’ keyword between them.

9. Search results from a specific site

Put “site:” in front of a site or domain. For example, site:gadgetsnow.com and type the search keyword after that to find results from a particular website.
